Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then located numerous other smeared cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state preliminary tests show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the incident," they added.
City officials said they were working "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.
A high-ranking political figure stated the attack made him speechless and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a assailant focusing on residents of migrant background in five years prior.
